Billionaires and their corporations are tightening their grip on our government, influencing policies that benefit them at the expense of everyone else. Under the current administration, we're seeing executive orders that funnel billions to fossil fuel billionaires, dismantle green energy initiatives, and scapegoat marginalized communities. They're creating an oligarchy—a government run by a select few wealthy individuals—who actively oppose progress like a Green New Deal, a wealth tax, or Medicare for All because it cuts into their profits. It's clearer than ever: it's the People vs. Billionaires. This campaign aims to expose this corruption and organize mass power to fight back.
This isn't just about abstract politics; it's about our lives and futures. Trump and his billionaire allies are actively working to poison our air and water, eliminate good union jobs, and strip away essential services like healthcare and food assistance—all to increase their own wealth. They're pushing a massive tax cut bill that would transfer trillions from working families, climate action, and healthcare to the already rich. This threatens our ability to have a livable planet, clean air and water, and secure futures. We deserve a government that works for the people and the planet, not just billionaires.
Senator Fetterman campaigned as a champion for working Pennsylvanians, promising to take on corporate power and fight for progressive values. Many who supported him felt they were electing an ally who would stand firm against right-wing agendas. However, since taking office, and particularly since the last election, his actions have caused significant disappointment and feelings of betrayal among his base. He has voted to confirm numerous Trump loyalist nominees, including controversial figures like Pam Bondi for Attorney General and Scott Turner for HUD, placing him among the Democrats most supportive of Trump's picks. His decision to meet with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago in January 2025, the first Democratic senator to do so post-election, signaled a concerning warmth towards the former president. Furthermore, Fetterman has publicly distanced himself from the progressive label he once embraced, adopted stances on border security and foreign policy (particularly regarding Israel) that align more closely with the right, and criticized fellow Democrats while seeking common ground with the Trump administration. These actions represent a significant shift from his campaign promises, leaving many supporters feeling abandoned. This action is about holding Senator Fetterman accountable to the people who elected him and demanding he honor his commitment to fight for working families, not billionaire interests and right-wing agendas.
We urge Senator Fetterman to oppose any reconciliation amendment that weakens or repeals the clean energy tax credits currently creating union jobs in Pennsylvania, and to use the reconciliation process to introduce or co-sponsor amendments investing in green infrastructure and job training programs that prioritize Pennsylvania's union workers.
“We need to make sure that as we transition we honor and uphold the union way of life for workers across Pennsylvania, and create thousands of good-paying union jobs in clean energy in the process.” Fetterman Campaign Website
Challenge: The reconciliation bill is being used by Congressional Republicans to roll back clean energy tax credits and provisions from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), with a focus on extending Trump-era tax cuts and reducing or eliminating incentives for green energy4. President Trump’s administration has declared a “national energy emergency” and is pushing to “end the Green New Deal and…revoke the electric vehicle mandate,” which would undermine the clean energy sector and union jobs in Pennsylvania 4.
Impact: Weakening or repealing clean energy tax credits would halt job growth in Pennsylvania’s clean energy sector. Pennsylvania’s opportunity to lead in green union jobs and infrastructure is at risk, with federal support for such initiatives likely to be slashed or eliminated.
We ask Senator Fetterman to vote NO on any new tax cuts for billionaires or large corporations within the reconciliation bill, ensuring resources remain available for community needs and echoing his commitment to tax fairness.
“I’ll fight for a tax code that ensures the wealthiest Americans and corporations like Amazon and don’t get away with scamming the system, and finally pay their fair share like the rest of us.” Fetterman’s campaign website.
Challenge: The reconciliation bill’s central feature is the extension and expansion of Trump-era tax cuts, projected to cost $4.5 trillion or more over ten years. These tax cuts overwhelmingly benefit the wealthy and large corporations, while being financed by deep cuts to social safety net programs.
Impact: The bottom 40% of households would lose significant income due to Medicaid cuts, while the top 1% would see substantial gains from the tax cuts7. This directly contradicts the demand for tax fairness and prioritizing community needs.
We demand Senator Fetterman to Publicly oppose and vote against any legislation or executive action that undermines immigrants’ due process rights or facilitates mass deportations without fair hearings. Furthermore, we demand for him to Co-sponsor or introduce legislation to guarantee legal representation for immigrants in removal proceedings, and to oversight of ICE and CBP practices to ensure compliance with due process and humane treatment standards.
“I fundamentally believe immigration is what makes America, America. This issue is personal to me. My wife, Gisele, was a Dreamer who came to America when she was 7, fleeing violence in Brazil with her family. I would not have my family if it weren’t for immigration.”
Challenge:
Recent Supreme Court rulings have allowed the administration to use wartime laws (like the Alien Enemies Act) for rapid deportations, but require only minimal due process—often just the right to file an individual habeas petition, which is logistically difficult for detainees far from family and legal counsel.
Federal policy shifts have led to increased detentions and deportations, sometimes targeting people with longstanding community ties or minor infractions.
Impact:
Wrongful deportations: Families are separated, U.S. citizen children are left without parents, and individuals are sent to countries where they may face violence or persecution.
Economic harm: Pennsylvania’s economy, especially in agriculture, healthcare, and service sectors, would suffer from the removal of vital workers.
We call on Senator Fetterman to publicly affirm and defend the First Amendment rights of students and Pennsylvania residents, especially in times of heightened political tension, and to Oppose legislation or administrative actions that would unduly restrict student expression or protest.
‘I’m full-on for free speech.’
Challenge:
Vague or overbroad speech codes at Pennsylvania public universities risk chilling student expression, with students self-censoring for fear of punishment.
Rising tensions on campuses—especially around issues like the Israel-Palestine conflict—have led to calls for censorship or punitive actions against student activists, threatening the open exchange of ideas.
Conflation of protest with harassment: There have been instances in which legitimate political speech has been mischaracterized as harassment or threats, leading to unjust discipline.
Impact:
Suppression of dissent: Students and residents may be deterred from speaking out on critical issues, undermining democratic engagement and activism.
Loss of educational value: Schools and universities are “nurseries of democracy,” and failing to protect free speech stifles the development of civic skills and robust debate.

The current fight centers around the Budget Reconciliation process. This is a special legislative tool that allows certain budget-related bills to pass the Senate with just a simple majority (51 votes), bypassing the usual 60-vote requirement needed to overcome a filibuster. The current administration and its allies are using this process to fast-track their agenda, including massive tax giveaways for billionaires and corporations, potentially funded by devastating cuts to climate action, healthcare, green jobs, and social safety nets. Blocking this bill is crucial to preventing a massive transfer of wealth to the top 1%.
